Fuzzy Clustered Blooms

I didn’t get the detailed photos that I needed and I really have no idea what kind of tree/bloom this is – or even if it was a blooming tree rather than a shrub (my memory fails me).

Orb Weaver Eats Katydid

So here’s the thing – this was gross. Really gross. And really awesome. And right in our front yard. I still haven’t quite figured out what sort of spider she is beyond an orb weaver. I’m leaning toward the first identification.


Monarch Butterfly

Just a good old fashioned common monarch butterfly (Raulston arboretum in Raleigh, NC). The one on the yellow flower is, I believe, Male (per that dark little dot in the middle of its lower wings).
