Yellow Bird Orchid

Yellow Bird Orchid
Orchidae brassolaelia, is my best guess. Photo taken at the Fairchild Botanical Gardens in Miami, FL at the Orchid House.
Creating orchid hybrids is a lucrative and popular hobby for many – because of which, my identification of this flower is a guess at best. I don’t know a lot about orchids – other than whoopla they are sure pretty!
I couldn’t find much on the great world wide interweb beyond that this flower likes to grow high, have plenty of light and water, etc. Usually the flowers start pink and then turn yellow as they mature – leaving behind fantastically purple freckles.
Nice photos
